Vessels of Hope
This weekend, I spent Sunday afternoon with four masters (MSc) students I’ve been seeking opportunity to reach out to. We went out for lunch and chatted about life experiences, politics and relationships. Yes, there was no bible study over meal but keep reading…
At the end of the evening, I asked if they could join me at the weekly young adult cell group I run at my local church. They obliged (it worked!).
The God-intended life
After the cell group discourse on living a life of excllence, one of the students I brought from lunch walked up to me and with an embrace, said:
“Joseph, you have no idea how much you have impacted my life tonight. I didn’t want to come to the cell group because I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I’m so glad I did. You have given me so much hope today!”
He was almost teary and I was moved by the sincerity of his words.
Sometimes, you may not see instant result of your labour, but don’t be discourged. Keep sowing. Keep impacting. Keep doing what God called you to do. You are making more impact than you know.
The God-intended life we are called to live is one that gives hope to others.
When you are committed to living on purpose, you will grow your influence and touch lives.
Vessels of hope
You were created to be a vessel of hope to the world around you. Don’t live for yourself. Open your bowel of mercy and reach out to those in dire need of hope.
Remember,
“We are only vessels. God is the AWESOME ONE in the story of our lives”
We all go through seasons of hopelessness. We have reasons to feel uninspired. We have huge tax bills to pay. We have difficult exams to write. We have challenging relationships to deal with. We have health issues to battle with. We have childcare worries to figure out. We have money issues to think about. Life is indeed full of challenges.
We can focus on the numerous issues in our lives and forget the opportunities around us to inspire others. Sometimes, we simply have to look away from ourselves and be vessels of hope to others. When we do this, we re-ignite hope in our own lives.
Hope begets hope! Be a channel of blessing today.
