Profound Lessons in Psalm 18: A Series [2]
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
(Psalm 18:2 ESV)
The reality of this verse is that God is our security. Take a look at it again:
My Rock
My Fortress
My Deliverer
My God
My Rock
My Refuge
My Shield
Horn of my Salvation
My Stronghold.
Of course the list is endless but this points to the truth that God is indeed passionate about the security, preservation, protection and welfare of His children. Are you one of His? Then rest assured He watches over you to keep and protect you.
Psalm 18 exudes great confidence and bids the believer to trust firmly in God. And now to you my friends; with a Rock over you, what are you afraid of!?
With a Shield before you, who can harm you!?
With a Deliverer like our God, what can the enemy do to you!?
With a Stronghold like Jesus, why worry about your security and safety in life!?
Yes, that word “worry” seems to be on every page of the book of our lives. But it needs not be so. In fact, Psalms like this were written to set us free from worry and anxiety by helping us focus on the magnificence and beauty of our God.
Would you rather see God or your troubles? You choose.
