You’re Not Forgotten

After my cell group meeting over the weekend, a friend shared with me his personal story of faith and journey of hope. 15 years years ago, God gave him a word at a time of significant stress and emotional conflict. It was a word of hope and reassurance about his family.

A promise for murky days

As we shared together and opened the Bible to read the verse again, he became very emotional. After reading the verse and reconnecting it with his story, it all made sense to me:

“And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them” — Isaiah 42:16.

 

For him, this wasn’t just another Bible verse but a reminder of his personal journey with God. His story made these words all the more meaningful to me. I felt a connection too.

Our journeys are not always bright and clear. Sometimes we lack full clarity on spiritual, personal and financial matters. Our stories are littered with foggy, murky days.

But God promises to lead, to shine light on our way and bring us to a glorious end. Our paths may be rough but the destination is sure.

You’re not forgotten

The verse ends with the words: [I will not forsake you].

This is a sure promise — you’re not forsaken, you’re not forgotten. You matter; your story matters. Friends may forget you but God has a great plan for your life.

“Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands” — Isaiah 49:16.

God sees you where you are, you’re not forgotten.
