Live Today!
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Life is not always straightforward. Discomfort makes us shiver. We would rather avoid inconvenience.
Live today, not tomorrow
If we are sincere with ourselves, we would agree the PROBLEM is not the problem but our inability to see beyond our challenges.
We focus too much on tomorrow’s uncertainties we fail to live today’s opportunities. Tweet this
We become so fixated on tomorrow’s prospects, we fail to experience today’s grace. Tomorrow is far from today. Live today! Free yourself.

God calls us to redeem the time… today, not tomorrow.
We are called to be change agents… today, not tomorrow.
3 Lessons from Matthew 6:34
As I read Matthew 6:34, I am reminded of three key lessons:
- the need to live today, despite its challenges.
- the need to leave tomorrow in the hands of the One who created it.
- the assurance of God’s unfailing love.
Make the most of today – that’s all you have now.
What often distracts or keeps you from living today?
About Joseph Iregbu
From a homeless, near-school-dropout to living a story worth telling. Purpose is my passion. What's your story?
Living for today gives us perspective – usually things aren’t as bad as they seem…until you dwell and worry about them.
🙂 Very true.
I would suggest the daily bombardment of negativity. We get distracted with how great “so and so” has it, or we wish we had that opportunity. We fall for it time and time again. We need to fill ourselves up with positive, meaningful things, and as you say “make the most of today.”
Our world is full of negativity. We must filter through them and find reasons to live… today. Thanks David.
So many things try to distract me from the beauty of today. Challenges are opportunities for God to work in me and through me. It’s how I CHOOSE to look at them.
Great post.
Very true. That’s the challenge. Thanks
It is easy for us to fixate on the problems we encounter in life but the truth of the matter is that in every problem there is a possibility. I have to constantly remind myself to look not at the problem but the God that makes all things possible. Inspiring post Joseph!
We all need to do that constantly. We never get to the point we feel we have arrived or know it all. That’s the place of grace. Thanks ever so much my brother.
Sincerely, Joseph you have truly empowered me because we always stress ourselves about tomorrow and we end up in a sin because the desire is never satisfied. May God bless you for your life changing inspiration in my life and truly i checked my mail every day thinking that you have sent me some encouragement and if i fail to get am always annoyed.
Haha, you need to understand I only post about twice a week 🙂 Thanks for your encouragement and staying on the journey.
Lately it’s been worry. Worry about work. About family. About friends.
I share some of those too. Since yesterday my daughter hasn’t been in great shape and that got me on the edge last night and this morning. Thanks Joe for sharing
