Let Your Life Be Single

The Christian life is One; your words and your life must be single. You cannot be a saint inside and be a sinner outside. You cannot claim to be a Mary inside and a Jezebel outside. You cannot be a Paul inside and a Saul outside. Your outward decoration must match your internal disposition. Your life must match your testimony. If they don’t, there’s a problem. A false start disqualifies the sprinter no matter how good a champion he’s been in the past. Just ask Usain Bolt. Let your life be single so that you can run this race well.

Let’s hold on to the truth we first believed; God is holy and we must seek to live a life devoted to purity of heart and life. Enough excuse making – let’s outgrow all excuses and realise that heaven is what’s at stake here. We are in a race full of challenges and thorns but not without grace. But we have almost mutilated the concept of grace, using it to excuse our lack of discipline to promote a life of sin. Yes, grace is needed in times of spiritual weakness… but must we live perpetually in moral weakness and abuse God’s grace?

Shall be continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid!

Grace keeps us holy, not quieten our conscience. Grace gives us strength in troubled times, not compromise our godly stand. Grace humbles us, not puff up our attitude. Grace keeps our words and life single. Grace is God. God is Grace.

In this race, we must run lawfully. God has given us the Manual of Life (Bible) and His Holy Spirit, hence we have all we need to triumph. His grace is sufficient and we can hit the finishing line well.

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
(2 Timothy 2:3-5 KJV)

Let your life be single. Don’t lose your focus. God bless you.
