Hope Will Prevail…

Our struggles in life are deep and our pains deeper but God is the strength of our lives and portion forever.

Ask Jacob, and he will tell you of the pain of a hip out of joint from wrestling with a Seraph. That man knew pain all his life: he toiled for 14 years to marry the woman of his dream. Wow! That’s a hard life for true love.

Ask Gideon and he will tell you of the pain of leading faint soldiers to battle. How do you win a battle with a bunch of tired and weary men!?

Ask Jesus, our perfect example and He will tell you of the pain of bearing the sins of the world and carrying a heavy cross as evidence of a guilt that wasn’t His.

And here you are as well: discouraged, hurting, waiting on God and on the verge of losing hope! No man has asked your hand in marriage. No woman has stayed in your life nor said yes to your proposals. Argh, life can be so unkind to us.

But while I empathise with you, I am reminded this is not the end of the story. And that’s what I want you to be reminded of too:

1. In spite of a broken hip, Jacob wrestled and pressed on to a victorious destiny – Genesis 32:24-30.

2. How about Gideon and his faint soldiers? I love what the Bible says: “And Gideon came to the Jordan and crossed over, he and the 300 men who were with him, EXHAUSTED YET PURSUING” – Judges 8:4 (ESV)
That is AMAZING!!!

3. Jesus, with a painful death process before Him, surrendered to the Father’s will and bore the shame for the sake of the glory to come. In agony, yet He prayed more earnestly until His sweat became like great drops of blood falling to the ground – Luke 22:44 (ESV)

4. And you? I leave you to write the conclusion of your story. Let your choices and decisions conclude it beautifully.

I urge you, hold on.
I urge you, keep pursuing after God, you will lay hold on your dreams.
I urge you, prevail in prayer and your glory will unveil.

Don’t give up! Be encouraged to know you’re not alone. Hope awaits you, hope abounds and hope will prevail.
