Inspiring a Generation to Success

In the weeks leading up to the end of 2013, I woke up one morning with a fresh sense of urgency and a new phrase on my lips for the university and college students in my local church, literally:

A fresh mandate for 2014

The precision of the mandate puzzled me. It wasn’t pre-meditated. On the train, en-route to the office that morning, I began seeking for inner clarity. The response?

“Run a Masterclass Program for your university and college students. It’s about time they acquire core life skills that will prepare them for the real world. Use what you have now. This will scale.”

Immediately, I began scripting ideas as the inspiration kept coming. I ran the vision and ideas past my wife and my partner on The Life Course initiative, Gori Olusina Daniel. In 24 hours, I knew I’d just received a fresh mandate for 2014.

Wow!

Inspiring a generation to success

If you’ve been reading my work for sometime, you probably know that I’m passionate about purposeinspiring hope and calling you to live the God-intended life. These three things define my vision and identity.

In the past two years, since our transition from England to Germany, I’ve grown a specific passion for university and college students.

I believe the world around us is changing so fast. And unless our young and aspiring leaders are prepared and equipped, they may not be able to face the challenges of their time. I’ve seen so many students living without a reason.

We have a collective responsibility to inspire a change in them and give them a platform to sustain their own transformation themselves.

I read a recent report that suggested a third or more of 16-24 year olds believe that life is meaningless for them. Why? because they feel opportunities for success are beyond their reach. And their environment has confined them to that mentality.

We can sit around and do nothing after reading such staggering statistics or we can rise up and inspire a generation by shaping their mindset and giving them practical success toolkits. That’s what I’ve decided to do.

About The Life Course Success Masterclass Program

This is not a bible study or teaching session. Instead each masterclass session (which will run throughout 2014) is intended to create an environment that will challenge students to acquire core skills on practical leadership, risk-taking, communication, how to succeed at interviews, to mention a few.

I’m desperate for them to change their family trees forever (for good) and break the cycle of “impossible” and “average” mindset.

The course will cover practical topics such as:

  • How to Create a Life Plan that Works
  • Leadership: Define and Develop Yours
  • How to Land Your Dream Job
  • Money Matters
  • Stretched: Take a Leadership Challenge
  • C-O-M-M-U-N-I-C-A-T-E: Be Heard!
  • etc…

How you can help (from 149 countries)

In 2013, my blog was viewed tens of thousands of times across 149 countries, including Mongolia, Iran, Kuwait, Papua New Guinea, Kazakhstan and Iraq.

As awesome as the numbers are (you guys are amazing by the way!), I want to encourage and challenge you to support our vision in the following ways:

  1. Pray for coverage and reach. The Success Masterclass Program will debut on January 18th 2014 in Essen, Germany. We are trusting God to reach other cities (in and outside Germany) before the end of the year.
  2. Pray for provision and impact. The amount of effort, time and planning that’s going into shaping the program is immense. We need God to raise people who can connect with this vision and willing to support or replicate it where they are.
  3. Commit a day a month to encourage a student or young person around you. Hope is a powerful gift you can share. Is that too much to ask?

Thank you… and here’s to a successful 2014!

What’s the one mandate you’re committed to fulfilling in 2014? Share in the comments.
